## Konparu-yu

Konparu-yu is a historical public bath place that was founded in 1836. Public bath house has been in Japan since then. There were about 2,900 public baths back in those days in Tokyo, but today there are only about 698 of them. There are only two including this Konparu-yu and one more other in Ginza. It is a quite rare facility.
In the bath facility, you can enjoy the tile arts and paintings. There are colorful carps that the Japanese has always loved, along with the Nishiki carp and the four seasons of Japanese. These tiles are made in Ishikawa prefectures using Kutaniyaki tiles, which you must take a look at.
The paintings are also spectacular. There is a dynamic painting of the Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan that has also been loved. There are one that paints the normal blue paintings, and also one of the majestic fire-red Mt. Fuji. These paintings were drawn by the only two craftsman in Japan. These are works of art that we recommend to view while enjoying the hot springs.
