About 1.5km of Nakanoshima Park lying between Dōjima and Tosabori Rivers. In 1891,
this park opened for the first time in Osaka city. In this park at the time of opening, the beer garden also opened for the first time in Osaka and it provided urban rest along with café. It used to there was a Nō (traditional styles of Japanese theater) butai (stage) “Suiryū-kan” at the behind of Osaka city central public hall and Nō was regularly performed. It used to be also a “ Jiutei Hotel” that was the only one hotel for foreigners
in Osaka. Next to the hotel there was a “Naniwa Onsen “(hot spring). Luxurious park at that time.
Now, there is a rose garden in this park. The roses blooms around May. The rose garden is about 500 meters east-west, area about 13,000 square meters. You see about 3700 roses of about 310 sorts. Roses are blooming in a beautiful mixture of red, white, pink, etc., add color to the oasis of the city center. Let’s enjoy gorgeous fragrance and seasonal coloring.

２. Daisen Park / Japanese garden
Hanashobu-ten (Japanese iris exhibition)

At Japanese garden in Daisen Park, “Hanashobu-ten (Japanese iris exhibition)” will be held. This exhibition is held every year around the blooming time. At about 26,000 square meters of garden which made with traditional techniques, you can enjoy beautiful potted plant of Hanashobu(Japanese iris). “Kaiyushiki” is a style of Japanese garden which you can walk around and appreciate the garden. This Japanese garden in Daisen Park is furthermore “ Tsukiyamarinsen-kaiyushiki”. So that wonderful to walk. Besides blooming Hanashobu, there are “Tojakuchi (pond) “where rabbit ear iris lushly bloom and ‘Seitaitei (arbor) “stands still at the waterside. Hattori Ryokuchi is an urban park which is located Terauchi / Hattori Ryokuchi Toyonaka Osaka. It’s the largest park in Osaka and one of the top 100 urban parks in Japan. At this park, “Hattori Ryokuchi May festival “will be held around the time of the flowers are in bloom. Special events related to Mother’s Day or Father’s Day or GREEN×LOHAS FESTA which is planned and operated by students, Chef's stall, (experience) events at Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses, exhibition and experience events at Hattori Ryokuchi Arboretum and more others are held. Let’s enjoy yourself at Hattori Ryokuchi where roses, azaleas, water lilies are blooming in early summer. There are many facilities in this park. One of the popular thing is a large playground equipment with roller slide of 20m at “Kodomo no rakuen ( children's paradise)”. Other facilities are Hattori Ryokuchi Arboretum, Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses, Riding club, Open-Air concert hall, athletics stadium, tennis court, water land (swimming pools). Entry fee is required for some facilities.

Harunobu Suzuki from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at ABENO HARUKAS Art Museum. Harunobu Suzuki was an Ukiyo-e artist famous for Nishikie founder period.
An exhibition about works of Harunobu Suzuki. Nishikie means Ukiyo-e woodblock printing. Most of the works of Harunobu are located abroad so it’s difficult to watch in Japan. This exhibition shows about selected 150 works of Harunobu collection
from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston which has the world's best Harunobu collection.
Besides at this exhibition, you see also works of other Ukiyo-e artists related Harunobu Suzuki. So you can feel the atmosphere of the period when Harunobu lived. Let’s visit this special valuable exhibition in Japan. In addition, there is an observatory at ABENO HARUKAS. Enjoy nice view of Osaka and art.

７. Aoba Matsuri (Festival of Kobodaishi’s birthday)

Nakayama-dera temple is located at Takarazuka-city. Many people visit this temple to pray for the safe delivery of the child. Every year a festival is held on June 15 to celebrate
Kobodaishi’s birthday. It’s called “Aoba Matsuri(festival)”. Because this festival is held during “aoba (green leaves)” season in June. It is said that this old temple founded by Shōtoku Taishi (Prince Shotoku). There is a garden on the temple grounds. In this garden you see Katagiri Katsumoto who was a famous Japanese warlord “daimyo” died in 1615, made “karesansui no niwa(zen garden)””kezo-in / shin no niwa ” and ”kannon-in / gyo no niwa”. Nice to visit.
Around this temple there are many sightseeing spots such as the Takarazuka Grand Theater where you can enjoy performances by all-female musical theater troupe, or The Osamu Tezuka manga museum for anime lovers. Let’s visit!
